Medical discipline is, I guess, doctors, medicines, and studies. Really anything that has to do with the health of people. Finding cures, developing surgeries, advancing the life span of humans. This would pay a rather large role in my business. My business is about a healthier, longer life. Staying in shape is important to keep a healthy heart and lungs. Medicine contributes by lengthening life, by and large. Medical interventions save peoples’ lives every day. There is also a great deal of preventative medicine – a doctor will sometime prescribe a diet or a certain medication in order to prevent strokes and heart disease. The right vitamins or foods often help with fats and cholesterol. In the same way, my fitness center is synonymous with “preventative medicine.” Daily exercise is a huge key in the prevention of illness.
The medical field affects economics because medicine, by many accounts, is a business. People develop drugs to help in weight loss or keep blood pressure down and they do it for the money. Marketing and selling prescription drugs is a big business.
Medicines have always been apart of history. Curing smallpox and the discovery of penicillin are memorable occurrences in our history.
Medicine and criminal justice are linked by the court system. Criminal action is sometimes taken against a pharmaceutical company or healthcare providers if an adverse outcome occurs. If a company is found negligent for something bad happening to anyone while using their services, then that company can be held accountable. In the same way, I could be accountable for any injuries that take place at my fitness center if it occurred due to my negligence, like failing to do equipment inspections or general lack of upkeep of my facility.
Medicine and language are linked very closely. For example, the epitome of the art of practicing medicine is the ability of the doctor to establish rapport with patients, take a complete history, which will lead to the diagnosis and treatment of the problem. It is impossible to attain a patient history or establish rapport with a patient without using language. Also, in medicine, not only language in general, but the choice of words is so important in explaining a medical condition or patient prognosis after making a diagnosis. Many malpractice lawsuits occur in this country simply because of a lack of communication. This lapse in communication either occurs within members of the medical community, or between a caregiver and a patient. It is important to recognize the power of language when dealing with people in a medical setting.
Psychology, whereas other students feel that it is a form of medicine, is actually not a medical field in the sense that psychiatry is. Psychiatry is the study of disorders of the mind and ways that pharmaceutical agents can be used to address these disorders. On the other hand, psychology is simply the study of the way the mind works. Why we do the things we do. What is the motivation behind our behavior, our development, even our thoughts? All of these facets of the human psyche are pondered in the field of psychology. Many times, a psychologist works closely with members of the medical community, often a psychiatrist. They may be able to add to the patient care by providing more information to the psychiatrist who is treating the patient. Also, counseling sessions are sometimes set up with psychologists in order to fully develop the patient’s diagnosis and treatment plan.

My paper topic
I am going to focus my paper on the Native American culture. How it was portrayed historically, and how the media portrays it now through film, news, and books. I will also contrast this media portrayal to experiences I have had and stories I have heard about the native american culture and the state of the reservations today. I am looking forward to doing the research necessary for writing this paper, and hopefully I will learn a lot from this topic.

Psychology is the way people think and why we think certain things. Psychology would help my business because the media has shaped an image of what people should look like. Being trim and fit is what society has accepted for the ideal look. This pressure of what society holds as “normal” molds people to think that being trim and fit is extremely important. So where do people go to get trim and fit? My business – my fitness center.
Psychology, or the way people think, has a huge effect or reaction to the economy. It is kind of a two way street. First, people with money and influence tell people what is cool and what isn’t. People change the way they act and stuff they buy to fit into the crowd. Second, if people really start to like a certain thing then the economy will shift to try to compensate for this occurrence.
Criminal Justice is the making of laws. The old way of making laws is called a common law. When a group of people think that one thing is wrong so they don’t do it. When someone does do that certain thing they are punished for it. After awhile this thing becomes a written law. History is affected by the past, but it is also used in the present to gage what has been accepted and what hasn’t been. If something in the past was considered wrong, then people will think that it still will be today.
Language is important because in order for communication to occur, there needs to be some sort of a common language, otherwise lack of communication could be a barrier to my business’s success. Also importantly, there could be discrimination towards people who speak different languages.
All these disciplines make a template for what people think is acceptable and marketable.

Language is the way groups of people communicate. It’s the words we speak. Language is very important to my business because it can be a barrier to my success, but it is also essentially the mode through which I conduct any sort of transaction. Being unable to reach people that don’t speak the language that I do could really hurt my business. I could potentially miss people that my business would be perfect for, or they could miss out on the services I provide if we are unable to communicate. If I were to open my business in New York and I only marketed to people who speak English, then I would be missing out on a major group of potential customers. Language is the most essential part of life and everyone has to have it.
Language affects criminal Justice immensely. If you aren’t told that something is wrong, then how do you keep from doing it? If you can’t read a no-parking sign written in English because you only know Spanish, then you might park there and not think that you are doing anything wrong.
The connection between language and economics is simple. If economics is the passage of goods, services, and currency from one person or group to another, then language is the mode by which these things are exchanged. A business transaction, for instance, cannot occur without some type of communication. In the same sense, the economy of our country is dependent upon communication for exchange with not only the citizens of this country but also with other countries of the world.
History is also shaped by communication. The history of our country is deeply engrained in communication. A great work of communication, our constitution, was the way the founders of our country chose to communicate with the citizens of that time, but also with the citizens of the future. The history of the world is shaped by communication. It is how wars are fought, how countries become independent, and how leaders are elected. These events are also communicated through textbooks and personal accounts to shape our understanding of the world today.

History simply is anything that happened in the past. From the JFK shooting to someone bouncing a check. If it happened it is history. History will have a huge impact on the way I run my business. It will be the knowledge base for a lot of the ideas and concepts that I will put into my business. Things such as what type of machines and hours people prefer to work out in. To what types of advertisement people respond and who in the past pays their bills and who doesn’t.
History effects how criminal justice and economics play in my business. If the history of a part of town is that it is full of crime then that would not be a good place to have my business. If no one has done anything to help that neighborhood then it gets a reputation for being a bad place to be and people will shy away from it even if it is good. History of economics in the fitness center business has already set a going rate for that type of service. If I were to charge a lot more that people have in the past then my business will more than likely flop.
